Books of the Day
RICK'S BOOKS OF THE DAY
The Game
by Neil Strauss. Although this is not a book that I, myself, need, I highly recommend it for the rest of you guys. Neil Strauss walks you step by step through the art of the pickup. This book is both useful and funny.
A Man, a Can, a Microwave: 50 Tasty Meals You Can Nuke in No Time (Man, a Can... Series)
by David Joachim. The a man, a can series is indispensable. Not only is it hands down the best bachelor's cookbook on the market, it's made of nearly indestructible laminated cardboard.
Playboy: Redheads
, Playboy: Blondes
, Playboy - Blondes, Brunettes, Redheads
: Three must-have coffee table books for the busy bachelor.
NORMAN'S BOOKS OF THE DAY
The Lost Symbol (Robert Langdon, No. 3)
by Dan Brown. I must say, although I don't usually indulge is this sort of frivolity, Dan Brown is certainly a modern master of the intelligent, erudite thriller. I keep it in my car and read it when I'm stuck in traffic.
The Moon and Sixpence (Dover Value Editions)
by W. Somerset Maugham. This is the current read of my lit group, I Want My Maugham.
And on my bedside table, Too Big to Fail: The Inside Story of How Wall Street and Washington Fought to Save the Financial System---and Themselves
by Andrew Ross Sorkin. Clocking in at 600 pages (including the index), this is a doorstop of a book which is almost impossible to put down. It's keeping me up far too late every night.
